Rock bottom
Sometimes we really do have to hit rock bottom before we find our way back to the surface. The lessons that shape us the most are often the ones that hurt the deepest or were the hardest to move through. I truly believe that in order to have breakthroughs and experience real growth, we all have to walk through seasons of hurt, heartbreak, and discomfort.
The doorway to healing is almost always found in our most challenging moments. Instead of viewing these times as setbacks, try seeing them as invitations—opportunities to understand yourself on a deeper level. As humans, we naturally seek pleasure and avoid pain. None of us want to struggle, fail, or feel uncomfortable… but those moments are necessary in this game of life.
The only real way out of our pain is straight through it. And each time we move through something hard, we come out stronger, more aware, and more capable than we were before.
Every failed relationship in my life has revealed something I needed to work on. It’s shown me what I truly want—and what I don’t. It’s challenged me to reflect, to articulate my needs, and to understand myself better. The things that used to completely throw me off still make me uncomfortable, but not in the same way. Growth gives you a different kind of stability.
In my own healing journey, I’ve learned that some things will show up before we feel ready for them, and others won’t surface until we are ready. And yet so much of life is spent running—from our fears, from our patterns, from the skeletons in our closet.
At some point, you have to stop running. Turn around and look those things in the face. Stop avoiding the hard conversations and the truth you’ve been carrying.
Live authentically. The rest will fall into place.
